Jake, rv, lizz and the rest of the platoon, are in the Slankzas gulch, in the Symarian desert, to intercept a scientific convoy escaping from a base, which is under attack by an armored unit. The scientists are extremly valuable ; being Technons, they can offer (when "appropriated" means are used) very valuable informations about Technon technology.
